Portrait Poem

Who always had the scent of Chanel N°5 or Lysol

Who had the knowledge of ten college professors

Who cared for everyone else before herself

Who loved children with all her heart

Who read the great book any time she got the chance

Who prayed even when doubtful

Whose job meant more than just work

Whose hard work benefited all who were around

Whose smile shined with great exuberance

Whose laugh was contagious

Whose songs filled everyone with laughter

Whose determination filled everyone with hope

Who saw the best in everyone

Who gave everyone a second chance and many more after that

Whose love brought joy to all

Whose ideas were clever and witty

Who asked many questions

Who cared so much for everyone she knew

Who was a motherly figure for all of the children she knew

Who taught children to be the best they could be

Who did not believe life was based on material things

Who was absolutely perfect to me
